Sony PMW F3 New camcorder

The new Sony PMW-F3 camcorder is designed for a range of digital production applications — from commercial, documentary, television and feature film production to markets such as education, corporate and government and more.

Filmmakers can also benefit from “slow” and “fast” recording, also known as “overcranking” and “undercranking” from 1 to 30 fps at 1920 × 1080 (17 to 30 fps in dual-link mode) and from 1 to 60 fps at 1280 × 720 (17 to 60 fps in dual-link mode).
The PL-mount of the PMW-F3 can both PL-and zoom lenses and is compatible with a variety of cine-lenses such as Cooke, Arri, Fujinon and Zeiss.

The IBC press release was short: “Sony will re-affirm its plan to introduce an ‘Affordable 35mm Camera’ to join the F35 and the SRW-9000PL. The demonstration of an R&D prototype will re-affirm the goal of establishing a 35mm line-up to cover applications from high budget to lower budget production.” Another big sign above the affordable prototype and its 2 Sony  Cinealta PL camera siblings (F35 and SRW-9000PL) proclaimed,  “It’s a 35mm World.” Absolutely.
