Pioneer has unveiled another new DJ controller called the DDJ-SX. This DJ controller is built specifically to work with the newest DJ software out there called Serato. Pioneer says that this DJ controller utilizes Serato as the basis for its control layout and ergonomic design. The DJ controller has special trigger pads and controls specific to the software.

The new Pioneer DDJ-SX looks to be one of the most professional-grade DJ controllers from Pioneer to-date with a brushed metal chassis and heavy duty appearance. The DDJ-SX will be very tightly integrated with the Serato DJ software and below each jog wheel there are (8) velocity-sensitive performance pads that can be used for Cue-points, Loop Rolls, Slicer, and the SP-6, similar to the way Vestax VCI-380 does it today with Serato ITCH. The DDJ-SX will take advantage of the new Dual Deck Mode which will allow uses to link two software decks together and manipulate them both at the same time with only one jog wheel. The center of the jog wheels have the familiar Pioneer CDJ-style LED ring that lets the user know where the "needle" is at a glance. The jog wheels are no longer the push-top style known on other DDJ series controllers. They are now touch-sensitive and have some very high resolution for accurate mixing and scratching.

The controller has a number of other features and ships with the Serato DJ software. The DDJ-SX has dual CD and phono/line inputs for external devices and two inputs for microphones. It also features two master outputs with XLR and RCA capability. The controller will ship in November at an MSRP of $1199.

Pioneer CDJ-2000 nexus

Today the Pioneer team unveiled the CDJ-2000 Nexus which is their latest model in the prestigious flagship CDJ series.

The player might look exactly like the previous 2000s and in many ways they keep the same layout but the techies have crammed in lots and lots of new technology which we’re going to run through now…

Check out the CDJ-2000 Nexus in action.

Pioneer has made clear its intentions to corner that crowded market with high-end CDJ models that replicate key features of laptop-enabled systems: GUIs that display track waveforms, the ability to browse by folder, and, crucially, USB ports that allow DJs to carry all their music on a single hard drive (or, if they've got shallow crates, a USB stick). This week, Pioneer upped the ante with the announcement of the CDJ-2000 Nexus, the latest edition of its top-of-the-line CD player.

The most headline-grabbing news is that the CDJ-2000 Nexus is the first CD player that allows DJs to access music on smartphones or tablets using Wi-Fi or USB connections. In other words, in addition to reading CDs, CD-Rs, DVDs, USB sticks, SD cards, and portable hard drives, And an enlarged (6.1 inch), full-color LCD display offers the kind of GUI previously available only with laptops, including browsable playlists, cover art, and scalable waveform renderings along with loop points, downbeat markers, and detailed pitch and tempo data. The CDJ-2000 Nexus can now cue up music directly from an iPhone—whether the DJ's, his or her friend's, or even an audience member's.

Pioneer has announced the XDJ-Aero, the first Wi-Fi DJ system that can wirelessly play music tracks from smart devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptop computers.
The XDJ-AERO lets you mix and arrange music tracks stored on smart devices via Wi-Fi, as well as on USB memory devices and computers. The XDJ-Aero can also create its own wireless access point when Wi-Fi isn’t available or not in range. Features: Industry’s first DJ system using smartphones and tablets via Wi-Fi Can be used as an independent 2-channel mixer Wide range of onboard effects including jog drum, Sample Launch, and more Two automatic mixing functions Record your mix directly to a USB storage device Slim and stylish design

For added convenience and expandability, the system is equipped with audio ports for connecting other sources such as Pioneer CDJ players, and can even be used as a standalone 2-channel mixer.  For creative music playback and unique mixing capabilities, the system offers a new built-in jog control, audio effects and more. The XDJ-AERO combines two digital players and a mixer into a single slim and stylish unit, taking similar design cues from Pioneer’s highly popular professional CDJ digital players and DJM mixers.  The unit also features a smoke-colored acrylic panel, blue and white LED illumination and low-profile jog platter and control buttons.
