LG has revealed what is claimed to be the thinnest LTE smartphone available on the market. LG has officially announced the Optimus Vu, complete with a 5-inch screen.

LG has previous teased the existence of the Optimus Vu but today comes the full reveal of the huge phone. The hardware inside is pretty good, too: it has a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm, 32 GB of storage space, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a front facing camera, an HDMI port (for those of you who think a 5-inch smartphone screen is still too small) and is just 8.5 mm thick. It can also support the faster LTE networks.

Available in South Korea first, this March. No pricing or international plans yet.

Panasonic introduces the P-04D ELUGA Android Smartphone

The only difference (other than colors) we know of is the Eluga gets NFC while the Japanese models get the Felica chip.

The Optimus LTE is one of LG’s most promising devices and has already been received well in Korea, Canada and the United States. Pre-launch word of mouth in Japan for the Optimus LTE, one of LG’s best-selling smartphones in Korea, has been favorable. Acer Releases Iconia Tab A200 (Android)

Few hours ago Acer released their latest Android powered Tablet named Iconia Tab A200. Although Android 4.0 is already out yet, as usual the OEMs do take their time for releasing new updates to their devices/users. This is also the case with A200 because it comes pre-installed with the now "old" Android Honeycomb (3.2) but the version 4.0 should arrive pretty soon as well.

The 10.1 inch display comes with a native resolution of 1280 x 800, powered by Nvidia Tegra Dual-core processor (1GHZ), 1GB or RAM and you can choose between either 8GB or 16GB of eMMC ROM for storage.

Below are some of the main hardware details in brief...

*. Processor: Nvidia Tegra 1GHZ dual-core.

*. RAM: 1 GB (although not entirely sure whether it's DDR2 or 3).

*. ROM Storage: 8 or 16GB and a separate MicroSD slot.

*. OS: Android 3.2 (as said, users should receive the latest 4.0 update pretty soon).

*. Display: 10.1″ inches with WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution (with multi touch gestures of course).

*. Wireless Networks: Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS.

*. Audio output: 3.5 mm standard audio jack.

*. Front camera: 2MP (not the best in the business but decent).

*. Standby time: 400 hours.

*. Battery: 3260mAh Li-ion.

*. Weight: 720g.

Anyhow, when considering the hardware and other aspects plus according to Acer them selves this is not a high end product but more likely a affordable Tablet. Concerning software: it has Cloud Note, Macfee, Netflix and Google Music (Cloud music service form Google), etc are also included in the OS as well.

It may be a bit cheap looking Tablet and it's certainly too early to tell whether it's gonna be a success or not, yet when considering the look-n-feel and the awesome looking Android OS, heck it does look promising nonetheless!.

As they say "A picture is worth a thousand words"... So here goes a little video that shows our all new and cool looking little "precious" ;-).  Enjoy!

HP Windows 8 Tablet For Launching Next Year

HP CEO Meg Whitman confirmed earlier this week that HP was indeed working on a Windows 8 tablet. She may or may not be talking about the Touchpad leak that we talked about earlier; the ones that were running Windows 8. She said that she thinks it is not too late to enter the business. Vice President of the Personal Systems Group, Tom Bradley, also said that he believes HP needs to be in the tablet business.

it will be trouble for HP if they do not release new devices in the near future. The first HP Windows 8 tablet might arrive only in mid-2012 or later. By that time, a huge number of customers might move to Apple and Android. The late arrival will also give Apple and Google more time to become even better.
But they can’t rush as well. Apple has been delivering a superior and unified user experience across its hardware, software and services. HP has a long way to go to become a big challenge to Apple.

Alien Dalvik 2.0 Brings iPad apps

After the iPhone, here is Android OS side by side with iOS on tablets, TVs, in-care infotainment and more thanks to Alien Dalvik v2.0. Developers Myriad want to make Android as default coding choice for apps across multiple platforms, including ereaders, ICE and smart TVs, with support not only for games and other software, but multimedia including live sports, recorded TV shows and on-demand movies, of course the iPad support is the most eye-catching.

Now their 2.0 release promises to have Android applications running on "tablets, TVs automobiles and more", and most impressively on the iPad. This can effectively bridge the gap between different mobile platforms by making one alternative that is capable of working across devices. Another alternative is of course HTML5 /CSS3/JavaScript; open web technologies have been playing catch up with native technologies and for many applications they might be a better choice considering that such applications can bypass the limitations of the app stores.

Samsung to supply quad-core A6 CPU to Apple

Samsung has in the past been one of Apple’s largest suppliers, producing a range of components for Apple’s iOS devices, including the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and with all the various court cases going on between Apple and Samsung, we heard recently that Apple’s next generation processor

Assuming the current assumptions and rumors added the economic component, there are some approaches to the products coming relatively safe to predict – at least at the CPU level. The iPad is two well equipped with the A5, the successor iPad 3 is already in the retina with higher resolution display and clear conversation. High resolution means more stress on the CPU and GPU, so it is likely that Apple continues the iPad 3, not only on retinal art, but also on the next A6 processor. Supposedly, the pixel spacing should be the iPad 3 with retinal display around 250 ppi.
