Apple Launched a New Thunderbolt Display

Did you think that the  new Macbook Air and Mac minis were the only things that Apple added a Thunderbolt port to? Well, apparently Apple has also decided that its 27-inch display needed a bit of lightning also.

The new display offers much of the same things as its predecessor- A 2560-by-1440 pixel resolution, LED backlighting, in-plane switching (IPS) technology for high viewing angle, an ambient light sensor, and a built-in speaker and microphone.

Features:

Thunderbolt Port + FireWire 800 Port
3 x USB 2.0 Ports
Gigabit Ethernet Port
Kensington Security Slot
1000:1 Contrast Ratio
375cd/m2 Brightness
178°/178° Viewing Angle
12ms Response Time
Built-In 2.1 Speaker System
Built-In Face Time HD Camera with Mic

The new display will cost $999, and quite a bit of time, as shipping times are now at six to eight weeks.
